To assess the best level for you, please self-assess if you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced. To get the most out of watercolor lessons at any of the levels above, I recommend studying drawing basics if you have not already. If you’re not there yet with drawing, I’m happy to go over drawing basics as needed.
Before classes start, I will work with you to learn more about you and your artistic journey, and what you hope to achieve with your watercolor classes. Each lesson is tailored to each individual’s level and goals. For beginners and intermediate students, my goal is usually to help you make watercolors that you are truly happy with! For advanced students, we usually close in on specific art goals. If you’re hoping to get your work 10% more realistic, or to make cards for your whole family, or if you just want to relax and paint flowers, we will come up with a plan that’s best.

About Me:
I’m a lifelong artist who draws from multiple sources of inspiration, right now I’m working on art that has to do with nature, and also, portraits. I am capable of painting and drawing in a realistic style, and I morph towards abstract art when I feel a need to do so.
I have a B.A. in Fine Arts from the University of Colorado, Boulder, and an M.A. in English as well. I make art for sale at art fairs as well as galleries. My mediums of choice are: oil painting, watercolor, and paper art. I’ve done a bit of everything, too, from mosaics to embroidery to comics, I want to touch every star of art. I also love to study art history and the history of art materials and mediums. After studying so many artists’ lives, artist safety is of utmost importance to me, I keep a close watch on which mediums are safest to use for both artists and the environment.
As far as my background in education, I’ve tutored on varied topics such as French, ACT prepping, art history, and many more! If you know me from way back, you might remember I taught a few recitation classes for English majors at CU Boulder from 2008-2010. I am also a mom, and I love everything that I learn from my son about learning. It’s wonderful to have a front row seat to his growth each day, and it teaches me to be a better teacher.
